The ski group are off the ferry and back on home soil. Just the journey from Dover to Horbury to go!

Just back from the final day on the slopes. Now for getting ready for the return journey.

I know lots of photos have been taken of the ski trip through the week. If you make sure Miss Gibbs gets a copy then they will go on a disc that each ski group member can have.

Friday and the last day on the slopes. Snowed again overnight and now cloud is clearing for a bright sky.
A couple if injuries at this stage already, have fun but stay safe today :-)

The penultimate ski day in Austria. All the groups are getting further and further up the mountain and deeper into the ski region.

After 4 days of skiing, students have a free night. They can choose from a range of evening activities on the grounds. Football, basketball, table tennis, gym, relaxing in the sports cafe or spending time in the rooms to socialise, read books, listen to music and chat.

Ski Trip - Day 4

After a late night travelling back to the accommodation through the snow from Salzburg, the ski group are now in a winter wonderland. Still snowing with forecasts predicting the snow continuing through the day. Going to be a cold day on the mountain with poor visibility.

With a birthday celebration yesterday and another one today, the group are a bit giddy.

Day 3 of skiing and there are some tired faces around the breakfast table this morning.

Some students moving ski groups due to the progress they have made, should be another good day with cold but sunny conditions.

Plans to go to Salzburg tonight to watch the Ice Hockey game, see if we can get some photos to share.

Ski trip -swimming

Tonight the majority of the group went swimming in the local town's pools and lazy river. Hopefully the jacuzzi and relax in the heated open air pools will have eased some aching limbs.

Ski trip - day 2

With beautiful blue skies and crisp snow, day 2 is going to be a good day. Sun cream needed and take on plenty of fluids.

Ski trip - day one

A snowy day and quite good skiing conditions. We've already seen excellent individual achievements, some entertainment and some face planting!

Most students (and staff) with sore legs this evening, plans in place to use the campus facilities tonight with some table tennis and use of the gym.

After some delays on the road due to traffic and a late ferry crossing, we have finally arrived. All fed and ski boots fitted, now for some sleep before the first day on the slopes. Watch out for some photo updates on here and Horbury Academy Facebook page.

Friday evening and already some tired faces on the coach. Heading to Dover for the ferry crossing and an evening meal.
